The 10 Most Hated Reality TV Stars of Today

Over the last decade or so, reality TV has become extremely popular in the United States. Long gone are the days of trained actors being the only on-screen stars. However, because reality TV is portrayed as real life (whether it actually is or not is debatable) many viewers feel like they know reality TV stars

Over the last decade or so, reality TV has become extremely popular in the United States.  Long gone are the days of trained actors being the only on-screen stars.  However, because reality TV is portrayed as real life (whether it actually is or not is debatable) many viewers feel like they know reality TV stars on a more personal level than other celebrities.  Because of this, it can be extremely easy to like or dislike someone based on the way they behave on TV.  Unfortunately in these stars’ cases, many people have gone with dislike.  Although there are different reasons for anyone’s feelings, it’s safe to say that all these stars have earned their place on this list.  Here are 10 of the most hated reality TV stars of today.

Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner may seem like the perfect momager.  After all, she’s the one responsible for the hit reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she’s helped all of her children make some serious cash.  However, despite her handwork, many people see her as an opportunist who will use her kids in any way possible to make some money. Anyone knows that insulting a mother’s parenting choices is one of the biggest blows you can deal. On top of that, a lot of people also see her as someone who is trying to live through her children and refuses to act her age.

Mimi Faust

2012 BET Awards - Radio Room - Day 2

Since the beginning of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta, Mimi Faust has gotten a bad rap with viewers.  She may not be as loud and obnoxious as some of the show’s other cast members, but she’s still found a way to irritate everyone. At first, people disliked Mimi for her inability to see the reality of her terrible relationship with Stevie J, then people didn’t like her because she was, to put it plainly, a hater.  However, her recent admission to having been a part of leaking a sex tape between her and another cast member (a fact which she had previously lied about) has made her extremely disliked by her cast members and the show’s viewers.

Gordon Ramsay

Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" 200th Episode Celebration

Celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay, has a reputation for being a pretty straight forward (read mine) guy.  As the host of the reality cooking series, Hell Kitchen, Ramsay takes great pride in telling competing chefs how he really feels.  Since the show started, many viewers have wondered why he always insists on being so rude, but Ramsay doesn’t seem to care what anyone has to say about him.  In 2013, reports began surfacing that Ramsay had used foul language around children while on the set of Master Chef Junior.

Kate Gosselin

By now, Kate Gosselin should be used to being hated.  Since appearing on the reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8, Gosselin has received a lot of criticism from viewers and critics for her attitude and even the way that she treats her children. Gosselin once even admitted to having a favorite child. According to sources, Gosselin’s need to belittle others played a huge part in her divorce from Jon Gosselin.

Janelle Evans

OK! Magazine's So Sexy NYC Event

Teen Mom 2 star, Janelle Evans, has had a very rocky life ever since becoming a parent.  Although she hasn’t been on TV in a while, MTV is gearing up to launch another season of Teen Mom 2, and as a result has been airing past seasons. If you’ve been following Evans throughout her reality TV career, you’ll know that she eventually lost custody of her son to her mother – and still managed to make things worse even once they were separated. Evans’ substance abuse issues have certainly derailed any real plans she had going for herself. Although she thinks she’s ready to turn her life around, things aren’t looking too good for Evans.  Between the way she treats her mother and the way she treats herself, Janelle Evans has officially gone out of her way to end up on this list.

Donald Trump

Donald Trump is just one of those people who everyone loves to hate. Even before his shot, The Apprentice, people didn’t really like him, but getting the chance to see him in action on a regular basis has only made things worse. Plus, since having his own reality competition show, Trump seems much more comfortable saying WHAT EVER he wants.  Recently, he announced that he plans to run for President of the United States, and even some of the people who actually like him are scratching their heads.

Abby Lee Miller

Dance Moms’ Abby Lee Miller is another reality TV star that people love to hate. So much in fact that she is sometimes considered the biggest villain in reality TV.  Many viewers have been disgusted by the way she treats the girls in her dance company and their parents.  Although Miller insists that she is just providing some tough love to the girls and helping prepare them for adulthood, most viewers (and dancers) just don’t see it that way. Miller was even sued by one of her former dancers on the grounds that Miller had verbally abused her.

Farrah Abraham

Farrah Abraham is quite possibly the most hated person in both 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom history.  Throughout her time in the reality TV world, Farrah has caught a lot of flack for the way she treats everyone around her, and the lack of attention she often pays to her child.  In 2013, Farrah released a sex tape which continued to damage her image even more.  On the most recent season of Teen Mom, Farrah, who was originally removed from the cast, was asked to return – and it was clear that some of the other cast members weren’t so excited about that.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner used to be the cute little sister on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but over the last few years she’s been getting plenty of attention of her own.  Many people feel like Jenner, who is only 17-years-old, has grown up way too fast, and though lots of people think her mother, Kris Jenner, is to blame – it’s pretty clear that Kylie really loves the spotlight.  This year especially, she has gotten a lot of media attention for her alleged relationship with rapper 25-year-old rapper, Tyga.

Josh Duggar

The Duggar family was once seen as the Holy Grail of reality TV families.  It’s still kind of hard to believe that they have fallen from grace. Recently, when allegations spread that during his teenage years, Josh Duggar sexually assaulted five girls – four of which were his sisters, many people struggled to cope with the news.  What added insult to injury was the fact that Duggar, and the rest of his family, didn’t seem to be bothered by the allegations because they believed they had already dealt with the issue and moved forward.  In the wake of the news TLC pulled 19 Kids and Counting from the lineup and Duggar stepped down from his position at the Family Research Center.
