Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown is set to produce and star in a new film series based on Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries.

According to Deadline, Millie will play the starring role of Enola, Sherlock Holmes’ teenage sister. In a deal with Legendary Entertainment, the actress will also get to produce the future film series. Millie recently worked with Legendary Entertainment on her forthcoming feature film debut Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The film series will be based on the six-book Enola Holmes Mysteries which sees Enola breaking out of her famous brother’s shadow and proving to be a skilled detective in her own right. Two of the books, The Case of the Missing Marquess, and The Case of the Cryptic Crinoline, were nominated for the Edgar Awards in 2007 and 2010 respectively.

The novels feature several characters that Sherlock fans will be familiar with, including Enola and Sherlock’s brother Mycroft, and Sherlock’s partner Dr Watson. No further casting has been announced at this time.

There is currently no indication of when filming for The Enola Holmes Mysteries will begin or when the film series is due to hit our screens. However, watch this space.

Alongside this exciting new project, Millie is also set to reprise her role as the iconic Eleven in Stranger Things. The third season of the Netflix phenomenon is already in the pipeline.
