Miami’s 2023 recruiting class added another elite receiver to its commitment list Tuesday when Miami (Fla.) Edison four-star standout Nathaniel “Ray Ray” Joseph announced he’s chosen to play for the hometown Hurricanes over Louisville.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound former Clemson commitment, ranked the No. 16 receiver in the 247Sports Composite and the 105th-best recruit regardless of position, took an official visit to Coral Gables on Friday and Saturday.

Joseph caught 33 passes for 632 yards and five touchdowns in nine games last season at Miami Edison High. He also scored on two punt returns and a 75-yard kickoff return. Joseph was seen spending time at Miami’s Legends camp Saturday speaking with Alonzo Highsmith, general manager of football operations, and the buzz was that a commitment could come soon.

Coach Mario Cristobal hinted Saturday a wave of commitments could be coming soon. Joseph's pledge followed Sunday's commitment from four-star Jaden Rashada, the No. 7-ranked quarterback in the 2023 class.

Miami’s recruiting class, which entered the weekend ranked 43rd, has nine commitments with Joseph and Rashada. The additions gave Miami 160.97 points in the 247Sports team rankings, boosting them up to No. 26 in the standings.

What does Joseph’s addition mean for Miami’s receivers?

Manny Navarro, Miami beat writer: Four of Miami’s nine commitments this cycle are pass catchers and Joseph is the highest-ranked recruit among them, with four-star recruit Robby Washington of Miami Palmetto (No. 171) not far behind him.

Last week, the Hurricanes picked up commitments from three-star tight ends Reid Mikeska (6-6, 233) of Cypress, Texas and Jackson Carver (6-6, 220) of Minneapolis.

The Hurricanes remain in the hunt for five-star receiver Jalen Brown (No. 29 overall) of Miami Gulliver Prep and four-star receiver Andy Jean (No. 299) of Miami Northwestern. In addition, the Hurricanes could land a commitment from 6-foot-6, 230-pound, four-star tight end Riley Williams (No. 77) out of Portland, Ore.
